About The Position

Develops policies and procedures in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Polo Club to ensure the staff creates a warm, friendly and safe atmosphere for members’ children and grandchildren to enjoy. Promotes the professional image of all children’s programs in the youth activity center, sports court, and game room areas. Maintains training and operating manuals for all such areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; Manages the day-to-day children activities within the policies, philosophy, and goals adopted by the Polo Club. Supervises, schedules, trains and evaluates staff and reviews employees’ time records for accuracy. Ensures order, cleanliness, and safety of all children areas. Plans, prepares and implements daily and monthly activities, themes and crafts, along with special events for children during the holidays and busy season. Actively engages with children in our care, providing continuous supervision while following all safety and security procedures established by the Polo Club. Handles all member questions, issues or concerns consistently and fairly and enforces all policies and procedures set forth in the Member handbook. Keeps Director of Spa & Fitness informed at all times of operations, procedures, activities, and situations involving the children and/or staff. Communicates with staff on a regular basis through meetings and providing a communication log to address daily and weekly requests or concerns. Manages payroll, expenses and revenue lines within the approved budget. Submits purchase orders for necessary supplies to the Director of Spa & Fitness for approval. Processes all invoices with approved purchase orders attached then submits them to the Director of Spa & Fitness. Carries out designated administrative responsibilities including records for the children, accurate numbers of monthly usage by members and guests. Collaborates with Club Social and Catering Managers to develop and support events for the children of the Club. Coordinates Summer Camp and Spring Break Camp programs as needed. Administers the employee children’s program benefit in partnership with Human Resources. Promotes the children’s programs to the Polo Club community through oral, written and media communication and responds to members’ concerns and questions in a timely, respectful manner. Maintains training requirements in compliance with the Polo Club’s policies. Maintains inventory of all games, toys and equipment. Implement all emergency procedures including hurricane, fire, medical issues and inclement weather. Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Spa & Fitness.

Requirements

  • Must have strong leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Must be able to interact with children in game room, activity center, and playground.
  • Must be very energetic.
  • Must have general knowledge of video games, DVD, other technology and media sources as related to children.
  • Knowledge of children’s programs, child-care, or education.
  • Must be able to research and create craft ideas and activities for a wide range of children.
  • Must be able to multi-task and think quickly.
  • Ability to interpret data and prepare reports.
  • Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in early education.
  • Ability to communicate well in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Outlook and Internet software.
  • First Aid and Safety, CPR including infants and AED certification.
