About The Position

A Pipeyard Manager will lead and oversee the daily functions of a pipe storage facility, ensuring efficient and safe handling of materials, managing inventory, directing staff and equipment, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. Key responsibilities focusing on operational excellence, safety, quality, and profitability. The manager will work closely with various departments to enhance operational results and maintain effective communication across the organization. Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with a background in logistics or industrial operations and knowledge of OSHA regulations This role is crucial for ensuring efficient management of the Pipe Yard Distribution Center

Requirements

  • Operational Experience: A strong background in PVF management or distribution center operations.
  • Five years or more of Distribution related experience
  • Excellent work ethic; ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
  • Understand quality guidelines and safety rules
  • Positive attitude / Results driven
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations Management: Lead the operational functions of the Pipe Distribution Center.
  • Overseeing all activities within the yard to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Staff and Equipment Management: Establish and maintain open lines of communication with corporate associates, branch personnel, and operational employees, Directing and assisting yard staff, managing the use and maintenance of heavy equipment forklifts, and ensuring safe operation.
  • Inventory Control: Managing and organizing stock, handling incoming shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring all operations comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocols, including OSHA requirements.
  • Coordination: Working with the sales/ Logistics team to plan daily orders, communicating with team for efficient loading/unloading, and acting as a liaison between departments.
  • Process Improvement: Reviewing operational procedures and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implementing new organizational management protocols.
  • Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational management protocols, practices, and tools.
