About The Position

The Project Coordinator (Yard Manager) will support the Project Management department, with a primary focus on administrative duties. Responsibilities include assisting the Project Manager with setting up project costs and schedules, actively managing the loading and unloading of equipment at the storage facility, conducting quality inspections and making necessary modifications, coordinating and monitoring all domestic transportation needs, and serving as a liaison between Project Management and Plant Operations. The ideal candidate will be able to manage budgets, deliver projects on time, demonstrate strong attention to detail, work effectively in a team environment, and maintain a customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Associates degree preferred
  • Extensive cooling tower construction experience in lieu of degree
  • Previous project coordinator experience is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or construction environment preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Project scheduling experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipments and requirements is helpful
  • Understanding of logistics terminology is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Set up projects in QTC/SAP
  • Set up project files
  • Manage billing milestones
  • Work with the billing department to correct invoicing errors and ensure proper back up to invoicing is sent.
  • Work with project managers to develop Change Orders and backup information for change orders.
  • Back up contact for project managers for any field-related issues that need attention.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of material for domestic shipments from SPX plants, storage facilities and vendor locations
  • Calculate and communicate estimated shipment costs for proposal departments
  • Travel frequently to storage facilities.
  • Conduct inventory of products on-site.
  • Inspect packaging to ensure structural integrity and compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Consolidate items as necessary
  • Identify missing components
  • Be present during loading and unloading of materials
  • May perform minor field labor
  • Conduct quality inspections at storage facilities and coordinate with internal teams to resolve any identified issues
  • Other duties as assigned
