About The Position

The Yard Manager manages a small team, ensuring smooth operations and upkeep of the stone yard while working in a fast-paced environment. This is a working manager position, and thus the Yard Manager operates a variety of equipment, including forklifts and skid steers. Additionally, the Yard Manager is responsible for organizing various types of stone, maintaining the cleanliness of the property, shipping and receiving, and assisting customers.

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of skid steer experience.
Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains yard cleanliness.
Assists customers with the loading and unloading of materials.
Completes shipping and receiving of materials.
Greets customers and provides appropriate guidance.
Operates construction or power equipment, such as skid steers and forklifts.
Occasionally operates small equipment such as blowers and hand tools.
Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Manages the performance of yard staff including performance evaluation, coaching, and training.
Responsible for the management of in-house projects and delegation of tasks.
