About The Position

The X-Ray Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Valid state licensure to practice as an X-Ray Technician in the United States.
  • Strong understanding of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital radiography and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Additional certifications in specialized imaging techniques such as CT or MRI.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients correctly to obtain the required radiographic images.
  • Operate X-ray equipment to capture images of bones, tissues, and organs as requested by physicians.
  • Ensure patient safety by following radiation protection guidelines and using shielding devices when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation of procedures performed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to review images for quality and assist in further diagnostic procedures if needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on radiographic equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
  • Educate patients about the imaging process and address any concerns to alleviate anxiety.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and institutional policies related to radiology services.
