About The Position

Reporting to the Water & Sewer Supervisor, this role involves the operation and maintenance of the water and sewerage treatment plants and associated infrastructure across Cloncurry, Dajarra, and Kajabbi. You’ll be part of a supportive team responsible for delivering essential services to our community.

Requirements

• A general understanding or interest in water and wastewater treatment
• Willingness to undertake training (including Certificate III in Water Treatment Plant Operations)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good literacy, numeracy, and time management skills
• Unrestricted "C" Class driver’s licence
• Construction White Card (or ability to obtain)
• Willingness to acquire Confined Spaces, Chlorine Safety, and Forklift certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating and maintaining treatment plants, pumps, and equipment.
• Record daily operational data, such as flow rates and meter readings
• Collect and test water and wastewater samples.
• Monitor and manage chemical usage.
• Support maintenance and infrastructure repairs
• Work weekends on a rostered basis
