About The Position

The Electrical Troubleshooting Assistant provides technical support to electricians and maintenance personnel in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and automated manufacturing equipment. This role involves applying fundamental electrical theory to assist in troubleshooting control systems, power distribution components, and electromechanical equipment. Key responsibilities include interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to aid in fault isolation; utilizing diagnostic tools such as multimeters and test instruments to verify circuits, voltage, and continuity; and assisting with corrective maintenance actions under supervision. The role may also support basic PLC troubleshooting, sensor verification, and component replacement to restore equipment functionality. The assistant is responsible for staging tools, parts, and materials; supporting preventive maintenance activities; and maintaining organized, compliant work areas. Strict adherence to all safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and applicable electrical codes, is required. Accurate and detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps, root cause findings, and repair actions is essential to support equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience will be considered.
  • Strong electrical and technical aptitude with experience supporting manufacturing equipment, systems, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Proficient in computer systems, including industrial software, PLC interfaces, and standard business applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and effectively coach and support operators and technicians.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Proven ability to facilitate training, motivate team members, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to learn, adapt, and continuously improve in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
