This is highly responsible work in developing and supervising security and safety programs and procedures for the Waste to Energy (WTE) Facility. The employee in this class is responsible for tasks of more than average difficulty which include: developing and supervising security and safety programs and procedures; ensuring that operations and activities are in compliance with departmental, city, state, federal, and OSHA regulations; and providing security and safety training for all WTE employees. Under direction, employees will maintain hurricane, emergency response, process safety management, all plant safety program, risk management, and vulnerability assessment plans/information up to date. The employee must work closely with department managers, emergency coordination, police, fire and City Risk Management personnel. Considerable initiative and independent judgment are expected of this employee. Supervision oversite of employees on 24/7 shifts is required; therefore, the employee must be able to plan and schedule appropriately. Work is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, and results achieved.
