About The Position

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Worship Coordinator Summary Description The Worship Coordinator is an organized leader who assists the Pastor of the parish in ensuring that all liturgical details are completed in a timely way, allowing the priests and deacons to enter prayerfully into sacred worship. The coordinator reports to the Pastor of the parish. This is a part-time position which ordinarily will be three 6 hour days each week in the office , but it requires flexibility to be at additional liturgies on occasion.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the church, and:
  • Possess a strong knowledge of liturgical practice, as well as experience in the use of the major liturgical books (ritual books, Lectionary, AOD Office of Sacred Worship Guidelines, etc.)
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and an ability to serve others with patience, understanding and dignity
  • Have strong organizational skills to work with many different people and the ability to collaborate well with other staff members
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Display good interpersonal skills, a collaborative work ethic and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Possess proficient computer skills, especially for communication and scheduling.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high professional ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate levels of scheduling the following liturgical ministers for weekend Masses, Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms and other liturgical events as needed: sacristans, altar servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, ministers of welcome and others as needed.
  • Assists planning for liturgical events and seasons
  • Plans and prepares regular training and continuing formation for liturgical ministers listed above
  • Responsible for ordering all church supplies used in the above activities
  • Responsible for maintaining and ordering all necessary items for Mass, liturgical and sacramental events
  • Ensure all Safe Environment policies and protocols are consistently upheld and followed by liturgical volunteers
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Ability to follow and enforce established policies and requirements of the parish
