This position is part of the Facilities Management and Workplace Services (FM&WS) organization and is responsible for building relationships/partnerships with key stakeholders and customer groups housed within our North American offices. The Workplace Strategist will work closely with the FM&WS Regional FM team, regional site operations team, and business units at each location to balance the needs of the occupants with strategic and tactical workplace plans. Key Objectives/Deliverables: Establish links with customers and key stakeholder counterparts. Serve as liaison to the regional site teams and act as a conduit into the Facility Services and Workplace Strategy organization. Translate business issues, strategic objectives, and end-user requirements into effective facility/work environment responses. Understand customers’ mission, vision, and business drivers to influence asset reinvestment strategies. Establish and maintain on-going communication with Workplace Strategy, Facility Management, Global Real Estate, Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) and primary contacts within Administrative, Discovery, Development, and Manufacturing within regional sites. Establish and maintain key relationships with corporate and site support groups including Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE), Fire, Safety and Security. Occupancy Management: Organize customer information on headcount projections, organizational structure, and workplace requirements. Use created summaries to communicate needs with Facilities and customer component leadership. Introduce, rollout and guide usage of our standard occupancy management database for reporting. Work with partners to ensure appropriate delivery of technology software. Identify need with FM&WS Regional Associate Directors to determine what sites will incorporate which process for workplace change request systems and engage as necessary with CBRE Team that manages the WPC implemented process. Engaged as to the site requests and balance those against our standards, guidelines and processes. Gather and analyze work environment related data and translate that information into 0–3-year occupancy strategy to support the Strategic Master Planning Process. Drive workplace occupancy rates and follow Lilly’s standard design and utilization standards. Utilize Lilly’s CAFM System and AutoCAD for scenario planning options for sites. Develop user requirements for lab and administrative spaces within regional sites that incorporate into site occupancy strategy. SME who will provide input during design process to ensure adherence to corporate standards with regards to workstations, offices, labs, meeting space, amenities, as well as direct occupancy facilities via leveraged resources (Lilly Corporate Architect, design partners, etc.). Partner with Lilly Amenities Associate Director on any amenity modifications to space. Adhere to the Enclosed Office Process and ensure exemptions are in place. Communications: Be engaged as resource regarding various facilities and infrastructure activities that occur at sites during site redevelopment. Communicate to site/component leadership and contacts as necessary. Participate in FM&WS site strategic master planning processes. Network with corporate counterparts to maintain appropriate focus on workplace/facilities needs and issues as they relate to the sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior design, Architecture, Engineering, Science, Business, or other technical discipline required.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, be relentless in the drive for results and be willing to advocate positions with limited support.
  • Ability to work either independently or with groups with minimal direction.
  • Experience in multi-project and multi-customer environments is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership (ability to create and present reports, set up and facilitate meetings, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to analyze data and summarize results.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships between internal and external functional groups with competing and changing priorities and with limited direct authority.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English to a level to communicate technical and business information effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Experience in a workplace strategy/occupancy planning role.
