About The Position

HealthPartners is hiring a Working Supervisor, Neurodiagnostics. This position works under the general supervision of the Neuroscience Operations Manager, leading the day-to-day operations and activities of the neurodiagnostic area. Key responsibilities include managing the timekeeping system, scheduling, ordering equipment and supplies, and performing as a working supervisor when needed. The role also involves developing and maintaining training programs and training new staff. The supervisor is responsible for staff supervision, ensuring compliance with organizational and departmental policies, leading daily lab operations to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, care, quality, and safety, and managing resources effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee of Allied Health Education and/or an associate degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience with a wide range of neurophysiologic monitoring, including standard and complex EEG, EP, EMG and MEP electrophysiologic testing.
  • Board registration in one or more of the following: EEG (REEGT), EP (REPT), or R.NCS.T.
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy and physiology, knowledge of neurological disorders and diseases.
  • Knowledge of electroneurodiagnostic equipment.
  • Experience with computer operation/knowledge of basic electronics.
  • Understanding of detailed documentation and record keeping.
  • Must be professional and self motivated.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Board registration in one or more of the following: EEG (REEGT), EP (REPT), or E.NCS.T.
  • Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).
  • Ability to lead, direct and motivate a team of employees.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge of all neurodiagnostic testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of staff, including having the authority to hire, transfer, lay off, promote, discipline and discharge, train, reward and review performance of employees.
  • Ensures compliance to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Leads and directs the daily operations of the neurodiagnostic lab to assure the highest levels of patient satisfaction, care, quality and safety.
  • Provide leadership, support and coordination of daily staff duties and schedules of all Neurodiagnostic Lab staff.
  • Trains new and existing staff.
  • Articulates a clear vision for service levels for patient care in areas of responsibility.
  • Sets and manages staffing patterns which meet service levels in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Develops and maintains training program for new and existing staff.
  • Ensures staff are trained on all processes and equipment.
  • Initiates cross-functional departmental communications to identify and resolve issues that interfere with the achievement to target service levels for a defined patient population.
  • Presents a positive and professional image to internal and external staff and patients.
  • Works with staff to develop, implement, review and update quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinicians and support colleagues to identify and implement leading practice protocols, pathways and/or order sets for patient populations in areas of responsibility.
  • Meets safety, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Develops, monitors and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Completes and manages the time keeping system schedules.
  • Enters weekly schedules for the regular week and on-call.
  • Approves time off requests and/or leaves of absence.
  • Approves timecards.
  • Enters the appropriate on-call tech into system and assures that it is correct.
  • Accountable for the stewardship of resources.
  • Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance to approved budget.
  • Prepares operating and capital budgets annually in collaboration with the director and other leaders as needed.
  • Investigates and corrects budgetary discrepancies.
  • Pursues cost savings and or revenue generating opportunities.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies by overseeing inventories and all orders, contacting appropriate personnel for repairs and serving, meets with sales representatives to discuss and evaluate new types of equipment.
  • Complies with safety instructions, observe safe work practices, provides input on safety issues and promotes a safe work environment.
  • Protects patient and member confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates participation in and support of the organization's Corporate Integrity Program by participating in compliance-related education and training and complying with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • May perform as a working supervisor as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
