About The Position

As a Workforce Planning Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Goodstart’s workforce. Reporting to the Head of Workforce Planning, you will support the design and implementation of workforce planning strategies that drive talent decisions and resource optimisation across the organisation. Your expertise will empower Centre Directors and State Teams to plan effectively for current and future workforce needs, optimise resources, and drive continuous improvement. Using data, design thinking and commercial insight, you’ll help ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time.

Requirements

  • Strong critical thinking skills, using data to make effective, organisation-wide decisions.
  • Proven experience in workforce planning or related functions, ideally within large or complex organisations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey information clearly across various formats.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI for managing and analysing workforce data.
  • Openness to change and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Proactive, action-oriented, and able to drive projects forward independently.
  • Alignment with Goodstart’s vision, guiding principles, and purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of organisation-wide workforce planning strategies, supporting operational and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Centre Directors and state teams to review rosters, identify labour efficiencies, and uplift workforce capability.
  • Analyse business performance data to identify workforce risks and opportunities, informing future planning.
  • Support new centre openings and organisational initiatives with expert workforce planning.
  • Provide coaching and advice to leaders, building capability and best practice across the organisation.
  • Use data and analytics to inform decision-making, support compliance, and advance inclusion and diversity initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with health, safety, and compliance standards in all workforce planning activities.
