About The Position

Excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact workforce programs with MassMEP! This full-time temporary role within our Workforce Development Pipeline Team will support initiatives that connect individuals to careers in manufacturing while helping manufacturers meet critical workforce needs! Hybrid role: 2 days in-office each week. Temporary position. (3-4 months with potential extension to permanent position based on program needs) The Workforce Pipeline Specialist is responsible for supporting initiatives that connect individuals to careers in manufacturing while helping employers meet critical workforce needs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Workforce Development, this Specialist serves as a key connector between job seekers, employers, training providers, and MassMEP staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, human services, education, business, or related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted.
  • 2+ Years’ Experience in workforce development, case management, career services, job placement, or job development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple tasks and have a flexible work schedule

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience engaging employers in manufacturing or technical/industrial sectors
  • Knowledge of transferable skills analysis and career pathway mapping
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Salesforce or other CRM
  • Familiar with ONet Online or similar labor market and occupational research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Participant Case Management
  • Provide individualized case management services, including intake, assessment, career planning, and ongoing participant support
  • Maintain regular communication with participants to track progress, address barriers, and support job retention and advancement
  • Identify transferable skills and support participant career pathway planning into manufacturing occupations
  • Accurately document participant activities, services, and outcomes in required data systems
  • Employer Outreach, Job Development & Engagement
  • Conduct proactive outreach to manufacturing employers to develop and maintain a pipeline of job opportunities
  • Promote MassMEP workforce programs and talent services to employers
  • Identify current and emerging workforce needs and hiring opportunities
  • Serve as a liaison between employers and participants throughout the recruitment and hiring process
  • Job Placement, Retention & Follow-Up
  • Match participants with appropriate employment, apprenticeship, internship, or work-based learning opportunities
  • Assist participants with resume development, interview preparation, and workplace readiness
  • Coordinate interviews, hiring activities, and onboarding support
  • Conduct post-placement follow-up with participants and employers to support retention and successful outcomes
  • Labor Market & Skills Alignment
  • Utilize labor market tools such as ONET Online to analyze occupational requirements and skill needs
  • Support alignment of participant skills, training pathways, and employer demand
  • Assist in identifying skills gaps and appropriate training or credential pathways
  • Program & Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support for workforce development programs, including scheduling, tracking deliverables, and supporting events
  • Track job development, employer engagement, placement, and retention activities to support performance goals
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry and reporting to meet grant, contract, and internal requirements
