About The Position

This position will provide instruction in the high school practical nursing pathway through CTC. Job duties include all aspects of responsibilities as an instructor, including: Teaching - Teaching is the primary duty of most UAM faculty and it is essential that quality teaching be encouraged, recognized, and rewarded. Its various forms, manifestations, and settings include classroom or clinical instruction, team teaching, independent study, research supervision, multi-disciplinary teaching, course preparation, and teaching strategies. Documentation of high-quality teaching can include but is not limited to peer and supervisor observations, student-evaluation surveys, course syllabi, evidence of innovative methods, and applications of current technology. Service- Service represents a contribution to the betterment of a program, unit, the university, profession, or community. Therefore, faculty should engage in service in all these contexts when possible, including but not exclusive to unit and university committee work, participation in professional organizations, active engagement in unit and/or university recruitment efforts, sponsorship of student organizations, and volunteer work in the community. Scholarship - Faculty members should be involved in creating, revising, and sharing knowledge. Scholarship takes many forms and may yield a variety of products, including but not exclusive to the production and possibly the publication of books, articles, blogs, and creative writings; the creation of visual art; musical and/or theatrical performances; the creation of videos; and presentations at professional conferences. Professional Renewal - Short and long-range plans and goals should demonstrate the continuous pursuit of excellence in the contexts of teaching, scholarship, and service.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must have extensive experience in the healthcare industry and knowledge of skills required for preparing the practical nursing student to give direct and primary nursing care under the immediate supervision of the instructor/clinical instructor, physician or staff nurses.
  • Applicant must possess a license as a registered nurse in Arkansas, be in good standing with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing, and be willing to submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 3 years of experience as a registered nurse is preferred.
  • Continuing engagement in clinical settings in strongly encouraged.
