About The Position

Workforce Development (WFD) Instructor - Fire Training are
PART-TIME instructors hired to teach specific classes or programs that are
scheduled and taught at various times throughout the calendar year.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 5 years of fire service experience
• Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• Credentialed PA State Fire Academy Instructor (for local level, facility and academy instruction)
• PA State Certification Program Evaluator (for certification programs)

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on fire training in compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and State and National standards.
• Develop and update lesson plans, training materials, and scenario-based exercises.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate training and certification records.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all training activities.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development staff, fire departments, and community partners to meet training needs.
• Maintain required instructor certifications and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Ability to drive a vehicle or an emergency vehicle in a safe manner if required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
