Let’s innovate the infinite, together. A DAY IN THE LIFE: As a Workflow Automation Engineer I , you'll build and enhance automation systems that improve how engineering teams operate. You’ll work closely with FPGA and Industrialization teams to streamline workflows, integrate tools, and eliminate manual processes. From developing Python scripts to connecting systems like Jira, GitLab, and Redmine, you’ll play a key role in improving engineering efficiency and enabling scalable, standardized processes across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience in software development, automation, or process improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with Python scripting and basic API integration.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, GitLab, Redmine, or similar development/project management systems.
  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software development workflows.
  • Experience or interest in documentation, knowledge management tools (e.g., SharePoint, wikis), or dashboard creation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

  • Automation & Scripting: Proficient in Python for building automation scripts, with a strong understanding of programming fundamentals and problem-solving.
  • API Integration & Systems Connectivity: Comfortable working with REST APIs to integrate tools and enable data flow across systems.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Thinking: Able to identify inefficiencies and design practical, scalable solutions that improve workflows and team productivity.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Workflow Automation Solutions: Build and maintain Python-based scripts that automate engineering workflows by integrating tools through REST APIs.
  • Analyze and Improve Engineering Processes: Partner with engineering teams to understand current workflows and design scalable automation solutions that reduce manual effort.
  • Integrate Engineering Toolchains: Connect systems such as Jira, GitLab, Redmine, Spira, and M-Files to create seamless and efficient development pipelines.
  • Build Reporting and Dashboard Tools: Develop scripts to extract and transform data into automated dashboards that provide visibility into team performance and key metrics.
  • Establish Knowledge Management Systems: Design and maintain centralized knowledge bases (e.g., SharePoint, internal wikis) to ensure a single source of truth.
  • Document and Standardize Processes: Create clear documentation for workflows and systems to ensure consistency, usability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize Workflows: Continuously refine automation solutions based on user feedback and evolving team needs.
