PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Civil Workface Planner III plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by providing direction and project management expertise. This role is responsible for developing detailed plans to optimize construction sequencing, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with contractual obligations. The Civil Workface Planner III integrates advanced work packaging (AWP) principles to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and drive sustainable outcomes, contributing to Worley’s ambition to be a global leader in sustainability solutions.

Requirements

A university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent trade qualification combined with further relevant training and experience.
Advanced knowledge and specialized expertise in construction planning, including civil works such as earthworks, concrete, structural foundations, grading, and infrastructure development, with mastery in one or multiple broad areas of AWP methodologies, product systems, and industry standards.
Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and provide recommendations for project planning, taking financial, social, and environmental impacts into account.
Strong proficiency in project management tools, scheduling software, and workface planning systems.
Proven experience integrating civil scope into work packages, ensuring alignment between engineering deliverables and field execution.
Strong understanding of civil construction sequencing, including site preparation, excavation, foundation installation, and structural coordination with other disciplines.
Proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders, including engineers, construction teams, and leadership.
Experience in providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, receiving broad assignments and managing tasks with a high level of autonomy.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in construction execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and challenges.

Develops and maintains comprehensive workface planning strategies, ensuring alignment with Worley’s sustainability objectives and project execution frameworks.
Creates detailed work packages that enhance project efficiency, integrating engineering, procurement, and construction elements.
Collaborates with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure a seamless transition of deliverables from design to execution.
Ensures workface planning aligns with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and corporate policies.
Analyzes project data to identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and enhance overall construction performance.
Provides expert guidance on construction sequencing, resource allocation, and scheduling to optimize productivity.
Engages with stakeholders to communicate planning methodologies, progress updates, and any necessary adjustments to execution plans.
Leverages data-centric solutions to improve project visibility and decision-making, supporting Worley’s digital transformation initiatives.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing best practices in workface planning and AWP processes.
Provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior planners and team members to strengthen overall planning capabilities.
