Primary Purpose The New Business Work Management Scheduler is an individual contributor accountable for scheduling support to New Business engineers who manage 3-phase commercial customers over 1000 kW of demand load focusing on complex jobs that may involve ATO, vaults and substation work. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, project scheduling, participating in task screening and schedule meetings with internal departments, monitoring task and switching schedules, review of planned and unplanned tasks, and project reporting. Management of large customer distribution project tasks, with minimum supervision. The New Business Work Management Scheduler is responsible for managing the schedule quality and stability of the department’s projects. These projects have budgets that will typically range from $100K to $25M+. Also, may manage business initiative projects with direct accountability for project execution while leading a team to accomplish objectives within a given time frame and with limited resources. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. This position is classified as remote hybrid and requires some in person meetings at various office locations within the ComEd territory. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering AND 2 - 4 years related business experience, or in lieu of bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 - 6 years relevant business experience is required.
  • Experience with Project View
  • Strong analytical skills and evaluation techniques
  • Experience and proficiency in using PC software and mainframe computer applications such as Excel, Access, Power Point, MS Project, Indus PassPort
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize a variety of independent assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Computer skills and experience with Project View (PV) Primavera P3, Cognos Impromptu, Hyperion System

Responsibilities

  • Attend and participate in daily work task screening calls and weekly schedule meetings
  • Monitor daily switching reports to identify and resolve issues with switching requests for department projects
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements
  • Manage work task changes in the schedule for the department and verify tasks are moved successfully
  • Ensures a good working relationship between the project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations.
