About The Position
TABER , the leading manufacturer of custom millwork, metalwork, and upholstery in Orange County, is seeking a Wood Stain and Finish Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation, color matching, grain enhancement, and application techniques for various finishes. Your projects will be amongst some of the largest and most preeminent ones in Southern California, and you will be working with many of the biggest contractors and sophisticated owners and architects. Our ideal Custom Upholstery Candidate:
Requirements
- 3 years minimum stain and finish experience
- Proven experience in staining and finishing wood surfaces, preferably in a custom millwork or woodworking environment.
- Proficiency in using various finishing tools and equipment, including spray guns, brushes, sanding tools, and polishers.
- Knowledge of different wood types and how they interact with stains, finishes, and other treatments.
- Ability to mix and match stains and finishes to achieve desired colors and effects.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Familiarity with safety practices related to handling chemicals, stains, and solvents.
- Understanding of surface preparation techniques, such as sanding, cleaning, and priming.
- Knowledge of different types of stains and finishes
- Capability to work on feet for extended periods
- Ability to commute/relocate: Irvine, CA 92618: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
