About The Position

Finisher requires meticulous attention to detail while performing a variety of finishing processes on metal components used in medical devices to ensure all products meet strict quality and regulatory standards. Finisher works closely with the production and quality assurance teams to deliver products that comply with customer specifications and industry requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Typically 1-5 years of experience in metal finishing, preferably within the medical device or aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with various metals such as stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in metal finishing or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform deburring, polishing, grinding, and cleaning of metal parts to remove imperfections and achieve desired surface finishes.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to finish components according to specifications.
  • Apply various finishing techniques such as buffing, sandblasting, passivation, and electro-polishing.
  • Ensure consistency and uniformity of finishes across all components.
  • Inspect finished parts using microscopes, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify compliance with dimensional and surface finish requirements.
  • Identify and report any defects or discrepancies to the supervisor or quality team.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including completion of job travelers, inspection sheets, and production logs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to medical device manufacturing.
  • Work closely with team members, including machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors, to resolve issues and improve processes.
