Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements. Perform basic systems safety tasks. Knowledgeable in the application of Army Regulations to facility plans and procedures, specifically: AR 385-10, The Army Safety Program DA PAM 385-64, Ammunition and Explosive Safety Standards DA PAM 385-65, Explosive and Chemical Site Plan Development and Submission Maintain current knowledge of specific government agency requirements. Exhibit knowledge and apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of their environmental specialty. Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions. Implement and maintain safety and health programs, systems, and procedures. Monitor and prevent hazards and diseases in the work area. Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace. Recommend improvements in processes, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards. Conduct employee training and assure quality of programs. Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice. Communicate all relevant information from management to other shift personnel when necessary. Participate in the PRODS SDC inspection program. Perform hazardous material inspections as needed. Conduct NEW and feed evaluations for the SDC. Prepare, modify and track hazardous waste manifests as required. Conduct environmental and safety inspections and compliance evaluations as directed.
