Wood Blending Maintenance Technician II
About The Position
The Wood Blending Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of production lines and equipment. This role involves collaborating with management to prioritize and complete work orders, supporting workplace organization (6S) and production efficiency (TPM) programs, and assisting in the training of operators on daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks. The technician will also contribute to line commissioning after maintenance events and participate in various plant projects. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within a dynamic, fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- 0 plus years of experience in role of Maintenance Tech I
- Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Proven experience in working unassisted with and troubleshooting: Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
- Strong background in manufacturing systems in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
- Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
- Strong mathematical skills
- Success in planning, executing and managing projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upward and downward to a wide range of audiences
- Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Will meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech's Training Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program
- Stick and wire welding experience required
- Forklift experience required with the ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of extrusion process, twin screw setup, blending system
- Knowledge of PLC Logic technology
- Advanced education and/or related-certification(s)
- Structural welding certification
Responsibilities
- Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times
- Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads.
- Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators.
- Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM).
- Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
- Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift
- Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
- Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
- Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
- Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
