About The Position

The Wood Blending Maintenance Technician II is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation and maintenance of production lines and other equipment. This role involves assisting in developing and prioritizing work orders, completing defined work requests, and supporting workplace organization and production efficiency programs. The technician will also assist, coach, and train operators in daily preventative maintenance checks, support the preventative maintenance process on their shift, and contribute to line commissioning after maintenance events. Additionally, the technician will participate in other plant projects as needed, operate in a manner that adds value to the team, and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 0 plus years of experience in role of Maintenance Tech I
  • Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Proven experience in working unassisted with and troubleshooting: Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
  • Strong background in manufacturing systems in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Success in planning, executing and managing projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upward and downward to a wide range of audiences
  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Completion of two year Maintenance Certification course
  • Stick and wire welding experience required
  • Forklift experience required with the ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of extrusion process, twin screw setup, blending system
  • Knowledge of PLC Logic technology
  • Advanced education and/or related-certification(s)
  • Structural welding certification

Responsibilities

  • Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times
  • Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads
  • Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators
  • Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM)
  • Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
  • Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift
  • Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
  • Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
  • Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
