About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative WISA/WISA Tech to support our benefits counseling team. In this role, you will work directly under the guidance of a Certified WISA/benefits counselor. This is a critical "behind-the-scenes" role that ensures our clients and referral sources receive accurate, high-quality benefit reports.

Requirements

• Strong writing skills for professional reporting
• Ability to collaborate effectively.
• Comfort using technical databases
• Seeking mentorship for complex cases.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Associate’s degree (or equivalent credits) in a related field plus 2 years of experience, or a high school diploma and 5 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• A foundational understanding of Social Security work incentives and disability benefits
• WISA certification through Cornell University or VCU-WIPA and Community Partner certification

Responsibilities

• Draft comprehensive reports in approved formats for clients and referral sources.
• Clearly explain how earned income affects Social Security cash payments and medical benefits (Medicaid/Medicare).
• Maintain proactive communication with WISAs regarding report status, data needs, and formatting requirements.
• Assist WISA team as they work with clients to implement work incentives, to maximize their financial independence as they enter or return to the workforce.
