About The Position

The position of Winery Administrative & Event Assistant is open until filled, in order to find an ideal candidate for this position. We're looking for a dependable, self-starter who loves our community and, preferably, has knowledge of working in the wine industry. Love wine, people, and creating memorable experiences? The Southern Oregon Wine Institute is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative & Event Assistant to support our winery operations and special events. From coordinating tastings to ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional experience, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and showcasing Oregon's incredible wine community. About the Southern Oregon Wine Institute:  The Southern Oregon Wine Institute (SOWI) was established in 2008 at UCC to support educational opportunities, workforce development and to support the wine industry in Southern Oregon. SOWI is designed as a living laboratory of cultivated vineyards along with a commercial-scale winemaking facility and events center that includes a wine incubator to support entrepreneurs in the wine industry. The Douglas County community through UCC is building upon 50+ years of rich academic experiences and lives changed through higher education. We are a student-centered, positive working environment that thrives on innovation. Umpqua Community College is located in beautiful Southern Oregon between the mountains of the Cascade Range to the east and the Coastal Range to the west. The area is also home to over 40 wineries and many breweries with a bustling downtown. Roseburg has everything you'd want from a small town and has easy access to the bigger cities of Portland and Eugene by jumping on I-5. Roseburg has live-ability, a friendly feel and is ready to be home to your next career and family adventure.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to obtain an Oregon Food Handlers Card and Oregon Liquor Control Commission Service Permit.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule including off campus events, extended hours, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year administrative assistant or tasting environment experience preferred.
