About The Position

The University of Iowa Center for Advancement (UICA) is seeking a passionate and driven recent University of Iowa graduate or graduating senior for the prestigious Williams Fellowship —a one-year, full-time opportunity designed to launch your career in higher education fundraising and philanthropy . This immersive experience provides competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and hands-on mentorship from seasoned professionals in the field. As a Williams Fellow, you will: ✠Gain real-world experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and alumni relations. ✠Contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact the University of Iowa community. ✠Develop a deep understanding of philanthropy’s role in higher education at the local, national, and global levels. ✠Enjoy flexibility with the option to work from home up to two days per week (based on business needs). ✠Take part in a fundraising trip alongside a UICA development professional, providing a unique learning opportunity. The fellowship begins in June 2026 and includes mentorship, networking, and career development opportunities. While future employment is not guaranteed or required, the program is designed to inspire and equip the selected candidate with the skills and experience to pursue a rewarding career in fundraising. Ideally, this path will align with the UI Center for Advancement’s mission, helping to strengthen the University of Iowa’s impact through philanthropy, donor engagement, and alumni support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa (earned in 2025 or expected by May 2026).
  • A passion for philanthropy, fundraising, and alumni engagement —demonstrated through coursework, internships, employment, or volunteer work.
  • A desire to grow, learn, and make an impact on the University of Iowa community and beyond.
  • Valid driver’s license required
