About The Position

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a special supplemental nutrition program offered throughout Wake County. The WIC program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture. WIC provides individualized nutrition counseling and group nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals for health care and other services for income-eligible women who are pregnant or post-partum, infants, and children up to age 5. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Client Services Coordinator - WIC to join our passionate WIC team. The Client Services Coordinator - WIC performs routine and moderate to complex administrative tasks to ensure efficient daily departmental operations. Assignments may include reception duties and functioning as department initial point of contact. The Client Services Coordinator will also provide outreach, intake, care and referral services for clients in need of public health, mental health or social services assistance. This role may obtain general client information, verify eligibility and assist with form completion and ancillary services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in clerical or administrative support work

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for income screening and benefit issuance for a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children at the Sunnybrook location for Human Services and regional sites including any new sites
  • Registering clients for services, interviewing clients on a one-to-one basis; accessing computer-based records; making eligibility and issuance determination based on federal and state rules and regulations; entering information and data within clients' records
  • Answering incoming calls and inquiries regarding the program; assisting the public with program explanation, scheduling all WIC appointments, and making referrals to other agencies and services
  • Assisting with special projects and duties as requested, performing research, gathering materials and collecting and entering data
  • Work sites include: Public Health Center in Raleigh and any of the regional centers including Wake Forest, Zebulon, Fuquay-Varina, and Departure Human Services Center, and Cary. This position rotates to Cary 2-3 days per week.
  • Work Schedule: 40hr work week hours: Mon-Fri 8:30-5:15, 1 evening per week until 7:00 PM, & 1 Saturday per month 8:30-2:00
  • A criminal background check will be conducted
