About The Position

As a Wetland Delineation Lead with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you’ll be part of a team to help clients navigate today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape to achieve and maintain compliance with the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related federal and state environmental regulations. Your primary responsibility will be leading wetland delineations in accordance with the USACE regional supplements for the Eastern Mountains and Piedmont, Midwest, and Northcentral and Northeast regions. This job is heavily field based. You will also assist with vegetation monitoring/assessment, threatened & endangered species surveys, fish and benthic macroinvertebrate sampling, and preparation of reports and permit applications. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a natural sciences field (e.g., Ecology, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Ecology)
  • 3+ years of experience leading wetland delineations and other applied ecological field studies (fisheries, botany, invertebrates)
  • Ability to travel for out-of-town assignments (~50%)
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor new staff
  • Solid understanding of scientific process and ability to work in team setting

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 40-hour wetland delineation training course
  • Familiarity with Section 401 and 404 Clean Water Act regulations and permitting
  • Familiarity with ecological restoration practices
