Requirements

  • An Ecologist or Environmental Scientist with a BS degree or higher, familiar with wetlands and native plant identification and State of Florida/U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permitting.
  • 8+ years of experience with wetland and regulated waters delineation, habitat assessment and permitting/mitigation requirements for wetlands, waters, floodplains, and buffer zones within inland and coastal/tidal ecosystems.
  • Experience with natural resource surveys and methodologies (vegetation, wildlife, water, soils, and site characteristics/conditions) in conjunction with the use of a Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment, required.
  • Experience completing wetland and regulated waters delineation independently or as a field team lead. Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification is preferred but not required.
  • State wetland and waters permitting experience in FL required.
  • Exhibit strong technical writing, field documentation and scientific data collection in accordance with regulatory programs and technical guidance.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with proposals, scope development and cost estimation.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to projects, team-player working with design/engineering, ecologists, construction compliance and mapping to support solutions-based client services.
  • 25% average fieldwork with busy periods up to 50% fieldwork.
  • Sponsorship not available now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with project accounting, invoicing and contract execution are beneficial but not required.
  • 38-hour USACE Delineation training preferred.
  • Section 7 ESA protected species, biological monitoring and habitat assessment experience a plus
  • GIS capabilities preferred, not required
