The Wellness Manager will lead Midtown Chicago’s evolution into a luxury, holistic wellness destination by curating innovative programming, elevating service standards, owning the spa business, member experience, and fostering a culture of well-being for members and hotel guests. Overseeing the Spa Supervisor, the Wellness Manager ensures that all spa and wellness operations, services, and offerings are delivered at the highest standard while driving business growth, innovation, and member satisfaction. Learn more about The Spa and Midtown Chicago here: Chicago Hotel Spa | The Hotel at Midtown Chicago, IL - Midtown Athletic Club Key Responsibilities Lead, support, and develop the Spa Supervisor and wellness team, with accountability for recruiting, training, scheduling, performance, and retention Own and execute a wellness experience calendar that reflects Midtown's premium brand Oversee all current and future club wellness programming, including facilitator training, scheduling, service execution and member engagement Launch new wellness concepts by establishing operating procedures, staffing models, training protocols, and service flows Collect and analyze performance data, insights, and member feedback to guide iteration and decision‑making Manage departmental budgets, payroll, labor optimization, and expense controls in partnership with club leadership Ensure all services comply with health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements Innovation and Strategy: Serve as a thought partner to the National Wellness Director on innovation pilots, testing, learnings and scalability within the club Support the adoption and rollout of new wellness and recovery technologies and initiatives Maintain a forward-looking perspective on emerging wellness trends, modalities, and best practices People Leadership & Culture Build and lead a high‑performing, service‑driven wellness team aligned with Midtown’s premium brand and hospitality standards Foster a culture of professionalism, curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement Coach and develop team members to grow both personally and professionally Collaboration Partner closely with the Assistant General Manager and club leadership to integrate wellness seamlessly into the overall club experience Maintain alignment with national wellness strategy and standards through a dotted-line relationship with the National Wellness Director Collaborate cross‑functionally with Department Heads & Membership to support member acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives Success in this role looks like Year-over-year growth of member & hotel guest usage of spa services Strong Net Promoter Score (NPS) & feedback for spa and wellness services Successful adoption and rollout of new wellness and recovery initiatives Increased member participation in wellness programs and experiences Effective implementation of wellness technology, recovery and innovation initiatives A demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and staying at the forefront of the wellness industry Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of leadership experience in spa, wellness, hospitality, or luxury service environments Proven success leading diverse service teams and complex schedules Experience with emerging wellness modalities, recovery concepts, or technology‑enabled wellness strongly preferred Strong operational and financial acumen with the ability to balance innovation with executional discipline Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills Passion for wellness, recovery, and human performance, with a member‑first mindset Relentless growth mindset, with experience developing and growing people, improving processes and building scalable systems Genuine curiosity and a willingness to explore the "why" as we build something new together Why Midtown?
