About The Position

The Wellness Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the wellness program and building strong, supportive relationships with members. This position promotes healthy living through education, encouragement, and guidance. This role may include additional duties as needed to support program and departmental goals. Leaders are expected to demonstrate the ability to influence, innovate, adapt, and problem-solve. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Medicine, Health Education, Nutrition, Kinesiology, or related field required.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience required.
  • Five (5) year of related employment experience in sports and/or wellness program required.
  • Three (3) years of budget experience required.
  • Certified Personal Trainer required. Must have one (1) certification from one of the following: ACE- American Council on Exercise, ACSM- American College of Sports Medicine, ISSA- International Sports Sciences Association, NASM- National Academy of Sports Medicine, or NAFC- Native American Fitness Council.
  • Must possess First Aid Certification, including CPR and Life Saving, or obtain certification within ninety (90) days of official date of hire in this position.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess “ServSafe Certification” or obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed, including all assigned events.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.

  • Demonstrate strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in English and basic computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Continuously seek to improve processes, practices, and policies
  • Take accountability for performance and results

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the wellness program, including data, reports, and records
  • Plan and lead wellness challenges, events, seminars, and classes
  • Collaborate with health professionals to improve program outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Manage budgets, schedules, reimbursements, and documentation
  • Set goals and support wellness staff performance, including supervision and evaluations
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain wellness equipment and resources
  • Enforce fitness access policies, coordinate programs for all ages, and perform other duties as assigned
