About The Position

To lead and manage Navy Federal’s employee wellness programs. Implement strategies by establishing operational objectives, policies and programs, and leverage knowledge of wellness offerings and practices to develop and administer benefits and programs that help Navy Federal attract, retain, and motivate a diverse workforce. Requirements

  • Experience leading an employee benefits function to include design, administration, and communication of employee wellness and/or benefit plans, preferably for a large organization
  • Advanced knowledge of various health and wellness plans and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of, and ability to interpret/apply, benefits related laws and regulations
  • Significant experience in budget forecasting and cost benefit analysis
  • Significant experience in leading large projects/initiatives which have business risk and impact
  • Advanced skill managing multiple priorities in a team environment to achieve goals
  • Expert skill working with diverse internal and external contacts
  • Expert skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact
  • Expert skill to influence, negotiate and persuade others to reach agreeable exchange and positive outcomes
  • Expert research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Expert ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage functions and operations supporting Navy Federal’s wellness programs, including preventive well-being and condition management
  • Guide the implementation of wellness programming, practices and resources which optimize costs, maintain external competitiveness, and meet organizational goals
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws, and industry regulations and standards and Navy Federal policies
  • Manage relationships with wellness vendors, brokers, and consultants to secure competitive rates and services; establish SLAs and monitor vendor performance
  • Participate in contract negotiations to ensure that wellness programs and vendors align with departmental and enterprise strategic goals
  • Guide the development of internal business partnerships through wellness consulting and collaborative projects
  • Collaborate with senior HR leadership to forecast benefits costs and analyze the financial impact of current and proposed benefits programs
  • Partner with the HR Shared Services Center on the administration of wellness programs to identify trends and proactively address issues; provide direction and guidance on escalated requests and/or program changes
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of wellness programs, making recommendations for improvements
  • Guide the development and implementation of employee education and communication regarding health behavior change programs, wellness offerings and health information
  • Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
  • Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employees
  • Establish performance goals and priorities
  • Prepare, conduct, and review performance appraisals
  • Develop, mentor and counsel staff
  • Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
  • Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
  • Ensure efficiency of operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
