About The Position

Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Welding Teacher. This full-time position involves teaching students the principles and practices of welding, ensuring they gain the skills necessary for a successful career in the trade. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a safe and engaging learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Welding Technology, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Vocational Education or a related area.
  • Proven experience in welding, with a strong understanding of various welding processes and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and the community.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience in a high school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Current welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive welding curriculum that meets state educational standards and industry requirements.
  • Instruct students in various welding techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
  • Assess student performance through practical demonstrations, written tests, and projects.
  • Provide individualized support and mentorship to students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom and workshop environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate welding skills into broader vocational training programs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in welding technology, and educational practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community through events and committees.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Assist in the development of partnerships with local businesses and industry leaders to enhance student learning opportunities.
