About The Position

Create a flexible classroom environment that fosters learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students, parents, and staff; and promote social, physical, and intellectual development through subject matter and skills that support student success. Assist students in earning industry-recognized certifications and gaining work-based learning opportunities in the field of Construction Trades. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Respond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to job, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Teach district approved curriculum, as specified in the Arizona Standards Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the students involved Guide learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and (in harmony with the goals) establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports Partner with local businesses to ensure the curriculum is relevant and to create real-world learning opportunities for students, such as internships or field trips. Help students with career planning, decision-making, and connecting their skills to potential job opportunities. Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations and rules Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner Teach students how to use tools and equipment safely and demonstrate specific skills related to a trade or occupation. Evaluate student learning through assignments, projects, and exams, and provide constructive feedback. Requirements

  • CTE Teacher Certification: Industrial and Emerging Technology
  • Teaching certification, issued by the Arizona Department of Education, appropriate to the teaching assignment.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain an IVP a IVP F ingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
