Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of welding-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role focused on welding processes.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Advanced knowledge of welding processes, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Experience with welding certifications (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and multiple welding positions and materials.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to accountability, ethical decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day welding operations to ensure production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Plan and coordinate welding tasks based on project requirements, workforce availability, and equipment capacity.
  • Optimize workflows, materials, and equipment usage to maximize productivity and quality.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop assembly personnel to achieve performance goals.
  • Assign tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and provide ongoing mentorship.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused team culture.
  • Monitor, maintain, calibrate, and coordinate repairs of welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements to support evolving production needs.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts by inspecting welds and ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Enforce OSHA, environmental, and internal safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Promote a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement at every stage of production.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve production issues and improve workflow.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding production status, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
