About The Position

This position creates quality welds according to product specification and blueprints, and resolves problems while notifying the supervisor of deficiencies and issues regarding completion. The role involves supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting projects, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, equipment, and fabrication requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of weld materials, production processes, machines, hardware, and assembly tools
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layouts when needed
  • Ability to work at a quick pace while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Ability to supervise and manage team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to accurately prepare documents, production sheets and other reports and related paperwork as required by our procedures
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints
  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking of a wide range of practical problems
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions

Responsibilities

  • Creates quality welds according to product specification and blueprints
  • Resolves problems and notifies supervisor of deficiencies and issues regarding completion
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting projects
  • Applies knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, equipment, and fabrication requirements
  • Analyzes blueprints and work orders to determine need or supplies and sequence of operations
  • Inspects work and confers with welders to maintain specified standards and quality
  • May set up equipment to make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products
  • Supervises brazing and soldering operations
  • Inspect welds for accuracy
  • Responsible for overseeing proper stacking, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use
  • Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by RMF standards
  • Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required
  • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required
  • Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment - running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts
