Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience; experience with structural weldments preferred
  • Experience welding to AWS D1.1 standards preferred
  • Knowledge of welding symbols and blueprint interpretation preferred
  • Experience with welding processes (Flux Core, Metal Core, GMAW, Sub Arc, etc.)
  • Experience performing pre-heats and stack welding preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to weld material 1/2-inch thickness or greater
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent work experience considered
  • Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane and forklift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Performs welding operations accurately and efficiently in accordance with established procedures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions to complete projects to specification
  • Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), drawings, and company standards
  • Apply working knowledge of welding processes (Flux Core, Metal Core, GMAW, Sub Arc, etc.)
  • Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment, including wire feed speed, voltage, and other parameters, to meet job requirements
  • Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions, alignment, and weld placement
  • Inspect completed welds and parts to ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance
  • Identify and report nonconforming work, quality issues, or production concerns to supervision
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment to position and move components safely
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to resolve issues and meet production goals
