About The Position

A Welder I fabricates and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. This role involves reviewing blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. The Welder I is also responsible for cleaning and inspecting completed welds to ensure structural soundness.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of general work experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld test
  • Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the area
  • Possess a moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job
  • Has a basic understanding of blueprints and can identify how the parts go together
  • Ability to read tape measures
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • The ability to weld tier one parts to standard alone after getting instruction from senior personal

Responsibilities

  • MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specified
  • Produce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipment
  • Prepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per print
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Notifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  • Adheres to company quality protocols and processes
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Perform duties with safety first quality mind set
