About The Position

The Smithsonian American Women's History Museum expands the story of America through the often-untold accounts and accomplishments of women-individually and collectively-to better understand our past and inspire our future.   • Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-XX level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as providing day-to-day operational support for a cultural institution's website in collaboration with its office for information technology and in compliance with accessibility mandates; overseeing program development, program implementation and overall functionality with the organization's mobile application of media technologies; and performing system design, web application baselining, testing, quality assurance, search engine optimization, information technology security vulnerability remediation, implementation, and documentation..

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program development, program implementation and overall functionality associated with the Museum's mobile application of media technologies.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for the Museum's website in collaboration with the Smithsonian's central Office of the Chief Information Officer and in compliance with accessibility mandates.
  • Perform system design, web application baselining, testing, quality assurance, Search Engine Optimization, IT security vulnerability remediation, implementation, and documentation.
  • Serve as a contracting officer's representative and technical point of contact for contracts and task orders related to maintaining and enhancing the website.
  • Consult across a broad range of graphics, video, audio, mobile, streaming, and other multimedia technologies.
