About The Position

A well-established creative services firm is seeking an experienced Website Development Manager to oversee its web development operations. The organization manages a diverse portfolio of client websites and digital projects, providing high-quality, scalable web solutions across industries. Position Overview: The Website Development Manager will lead a team responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining client websites. This position requires a balance of technical understanding, operational oversight, and team leadership. The ideal candidate has experience managing both people and processes, with a strong ability to ensure efficiency, quality, and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in website development, with at least 2–3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and web development operations in an agency, creative, or technical services setting.
  • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development processes, particularly within CMS environments (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, custom PHP).
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in resource planning, budgeting, and workload forecasting.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into actionable technical strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team through collaboration, accountability, and clear direction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all website development projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Manage and mentor a team of developers, designers, and support staff; conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development guidance.
  • Implement efficient workflows, documentation, and quality assurance processes to enhance team productivity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with client service, creative, and marketing teams to align deliverables with business goals.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project timelines, website performance, and resource utilization.
  • Monitor site performance, analytics, and SEO fundamentals to inform data-driven improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, technical tools, and resources as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging web technologies to support continuous improvement.
