Weatherization Field Tech Apprenticeship

Arapahoe CountyAurora, CO
$24 - $36

About The Position

The Arapahoe County government serves its communities in ways both obvious and obscure. As the beating heart of local and regional government, we’re here for our neighbors on their best days—and their worst. We share our residents’ goals of preserving our quality of life and strive to be the place we’re proud to call home. Under the guidance of qualified Field Tech II/III staff, Field Supervisors, and certified instructors, the apprentice learns to perform a range of weatherization tasks that improve the efficiency, comfort, and safety of homes eligible for assistance. Apprentices progressively build competencies in construction techniques, diagnostic tools, energy conservation practices, safe work procedures, and proper documentation. The Weatherization Technician Apprenticeship is a structured, earn-while-you-learn program that prepares individuals for a career performing energy conservation and residential weatherization improvements. Apprentices receive supervised on-the-job training (OJT) combined with related technical instruction (RTI) to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to transition into the Field Tech I position within the Weatherization Division.
