HANAC, Inc. – originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee – is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City. Under the general supervision of the Weatherization Program Director, the Weatherization technician’s main function is to assist and provide support to the program Quality Control Inspector and the Multifamily Energy Auditor. Assist in conducting inspections on buildings 1-4 units and Multifamily Buildings 5 units and up. Maintains documentation on weatherization projects, including job findings, and problem-solving measurements discussed with Energy Auditors, Quality control inspector, contractor crews, building management, and Program Director. Responsible for the record keeping of the program agency material and collaborating in the installation of in unit carbon Monoxide and smoke alarms.
