The Weatherization Technician I is a laborer position that performs energy-conserving improvements in homes. Daily work includes installing insulation (blown and batt) in roofs, floors, and walls; caulking/air sealing penetrations (plumbing, attic, etc.); installing baseload items, LED bulbs, low-flow aerators, and showerheads. This position seals ducts and mastic, assists with heating system installations, repairs the belly areas of mobile homes, and performs minor flooring, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. Working hours may vary with the project load, but the customary schedule is Monday – Thursday, four 10-hour days with a 30-minute lunch break. Regular attendance and punctuality are necessary for success. Daily daytime travel is required and up to 25% overnight travel is also required, as well as occasional evening and weekend hours.
