About The Position

Supply Technician to perform research on repair parts, service procedures, and tool requirements. Obtain parts and service quotes from commercial vendors for repairing watercraft and trailer equipment. Use manufacturer parts and service manuals, electronic databases, and direct communications with dealers to identify and price parts and services

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in logistics and parts procurement/management. Ability to get Clearance if needed
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain the appropriate level of security clearance if required for specific tasks or locations.
  • Proficient in the use of DPAS/ ELMS for property tracking and accountability, with emphasis on physical TOA commodity management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing physical materiel receipt, issue, storage, shipping, and inventory accountability.
  • Familiarity with Navy and DoD equipment handling procedures, including oversight of inspection, maintenance, and calibration cycles.
  • Must be eligible to access government systems and work on a U.S. Navy installation.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have forklift operator’s license
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Daily tasks may require moderate lifting/carrying of items (over 50 lbs.) with assistance and standing for long periods
  • Must be available to travel if necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite and Adobe suite.
  • Experience with Organizational Maintenance Management System- Next Generation (OMMS-NG) and SKED planned maintenance scheduling software.

Responsibilities

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective coordination with both internal teams and external partners. This includes the skill to navigate and resolve complex issues through clear and concise communication.
  • Have experience in limited aspects of supply chain management (e.g., inventory management, storage management, and property utilization) related to and in conjunction with maintenance, repair and local supply activities.
  • Can solve individual case problems or supply actions related to the maritime equipment, which includes maintaining a storeroom with readily available parts to supply mechanics with common service items.
  • Be able to recognize high and low inventory limits and manage in-stock numbers.
  • Make recommendations to clients on ready access parts, storage numbers, based on rate of usage, acquisition timeline or demand.
  • Have experience and be familiar with various manufacturer repair parts manuals, web sites, and parts listings available to locate supply sources.
  • Conduct market research for parts via direct vendor contact, repair parts manuals, and internet-based information sources when not available thru the navy stock system.
  • Maintain a storeroom with readily available parts to supply mechanics with common service items.
