About The Position

Maguire is seeking an experienced Water Tank Construction Consultant specializing in welded steel ground storage tanks to join our team. This individual will work with municipalities, municipal utility districts (MUDs), special utility districts (SUDs), and private owners in Texas to provide expert advice and support in the planning, designing, and constructing welded steel ground storage tanks. The consultant will also assist in identifying and coordinating with fabricators, field erection crews, civil contractors, electricians, and painters to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of water tank construction and strong communication and project management skills. Location: Texas (Statewide Travel Required) Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the design, construction, and/or maintenance of welded steel ground storage tanks.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines for water tank construction.
  • Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing subcontractors, including fabricators, field erection crews, and other construction professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including engineers, municipal officials, and private owners.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout the state of Texas for site visits and meetings with clients and contractors.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related field, or requisite experience.
  • Professional certifications related to water tank construction or project management (e.g., AWWA, PMP).
  • Previous experience working with municipal and utility clients.
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies and innovations in water tank construction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to clients, including municipalities, utility districts, and private owners, on the construction and maintenance of welded steel ground storage tanks.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate tank designs, materials, and construction techniques based on site-specific needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide clients through the permitting process and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the feasibility and success of projects.
  • Identify and vet qualified fabricators, field erection crews, civil contractors, electricians, and painters for each project.
  • Oversee the selection and coordination of these vendors to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency during the construction process.
  • Serve as a liaison between the client and contractors, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Travel across Texas to meet with clients, conduct site visits, and provide on-the-ground consultation during pre-construction.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and events within Texas to stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Monitor ongoing projects and guide as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with all aspects of the project.
  • Offer technical support and advice throughout the lifespan of the tank, from initial consultation through post-construction maintenance.
  • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads for future projects within the municipal and private sectors.
