This position provides direct leadership to the Surface Water Investigations Program. Supervises a team of five hydrologists tasked with the operation and maintenance of 80+ stream gaging stations. Responsible for the planning, administration, and implementation of programmatic goals. Ensures the delivery of timely and accurate stage/discharge measurements and oversees the year-end preparation of surface water flow data for publication. Oversees surveying operations at stream gage sites to meet departmental standards. Coordinates and leads special hydrologic assessment projects in support of agency permitting requirements. Manages the program budget to include identifying needs, creating requisitions, and receiving goods. Able to work and make decisions independently. This position may require you to operate a state owned or leased vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license is required. Please note this position follows a hybrid work schedule to include both in-office and telework. Candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.
