We are seeking a Water Resource Intern to join our Water Resiliency Team in Texas for Summer2026. Working within our Management Consultancy Teams, you’ll enhance our clients’ performance by developing asset strategies and plans, and delivering them using information, technology, and behavioral change capabilities. This role sits within our Global Resiliency Group where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years’ experience
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering, Coastal Sciences, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Environmental Science or related field
  • Strong experience and comfort working in MS Office Software
  • Familiarity working with GIS software
  • Familiarity working with engineering software’s such as HEC-RAS
  • Interest in supporting urban and coastal climate adaptation initiatives, including funding and implementation

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with ESRI GIS software, specifically ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience conducting research, excellent writing skills and ability to organize and present data in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with dashboarding software such as PowerBI or Tableau
  • Proficiency with Python, R, Matlab, Fortran, Bash, or related coding languages
  • Experience working in the water resources engineering, flood risk resilience, or grants management fields

Responsibilities

  • Supporting planning and engineering studies for both existing and expanding clientele.
  • Addressing challenges related to coastal protection, risk assessment, stormwater management, groundwater, benefit-cost analysis, environmental impact, funding, grant management, and social impact analysis, among other resilience needs.
  • Collaborating with integrated, multi-disciplinary teams comprising planners, engineers, scientists, designers, and other professionals.
  • Analyzing data and prepare comprehensive reports, both static and dynamic, to communicate results effectively.
  • Identifying and describing cost-effective environmentally sustainable resilience actions.
  • Engaging in both client and project development, where you contribute to reports and presentations.
  • Supporting a growing base of projects throughout the country with federal, state, and local government clients related to risk assessment, climate adaptation, resilience planning, policy, project development, feasibility studies, engineering design, as well as project funding and implementation with the support of one of the industry’s leading technical and professional staffs.
  • Periodic travel to local and potentially national client sites, conferences, or internal workshops is expected, further enriching your experience.
