Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program for Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related area of study.
  • A demonstrated interest in the Civil and Environmental Engineering or watershed science industries, through prior internships, applied academic coursework, or previous work experiences.
  • Strong data analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Ability to perform field work including but not limited to working outdoors, navigating rough terrain, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Valid State of California Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • State of California Boating License.
  • Wilderness First Aid certification or training.
  • Experience working or recreating in remote locations.
  • Involvement with professional associations, on-campus groups, and/or community service initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in field work as necessary, including installing and maintaining a network of water temperature sensors in a watershed.
  • Collect and analyze water temperature data.
  • Support regulatory studies for a hydropower project.
  • Organize and maintain project electronic and hard copy files.
  • Perform basic computations as directed by an engineer or designer.
