Your Opportunity Our Sacramento, California office of Stantec is seeking a Water Resources Intern to join our multi-disciplinary team of water resources professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state, and federal clients. Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in diverse team environments, interacting with staff, clients, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to perform field work as needed
  • In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) or Master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, hydrology, or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of related undergraduate coursework.
  • Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following: Engineering feasibility analyses and design Hydrology and hydraulics Water resources planning and design Civil engineering design of water and wastewater infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water resources planning projects throughout California and the western U.S.
  • Gain and apply experience in California water resources including surface water, groundwater, and recycled water supplies; river systems; water-related infrastructure; applicable laws/policies/regulations/guidelines; and understanding of operations of major water systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Assist technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations.
  • Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering of information, writing proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
