About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Plant Foreman to add to our Water Remediation Team. The Foreman operates on site supervising crews of Environmental Technicians as necessary at our Kapolei, HI location. Multiple schedules are available currently. You will regularly work between 40-90 hours as week with possible 12-14 hours a day. All hours and weekends. Pay Range DOE: $26-$34 per HR Why work for Clean Harbors? Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of mid level supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working with water treatment, building filtrations systems, working in waste water treatment plants highly preferred
  • Valid and clean driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations
  • Understands the manpower and equipment required to complete assignments
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Available for 24 hour, on-call basis
  • Will need to pass a federal level background check once hired, DBIDS
  • Requires pulling/pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, crawling, stooping and crouching in confined spaces
  • Requires walking, climbing, speaking, listening, color determination and clarity of vision at 2 feet or more (with or without lenses)
  • Requires sitting for extended periods
  • Requires the ability to properly wear and use personal respirator equipment and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) including levels A,B,C,D & E, including full encapsulation PPE suits which can elevate body temperature substantially during strenuous exertion
  • Available for 24/day on‐call basis
  • Requires speaking, writing, and listening in English
  • Position involves strenuous physical exertion
  • Requires standing, lifting up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Water certifications are a plus
  • Strong mechanical ability preferred
  • Knowledge of chemicals preferred
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation DOT regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred)
  • All other duties as required by Management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Helps supervise multiple employees and a single plant operation
  • Operates a forklift when necessary
  • Helps assure all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements is maintained and submitted immediately after processing operations have been completed
  • Ensures that employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensures that supervised operations staff meets all compliance standards
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
